구한말과 일제 강점기의 암울했던 시대적 상황을 그대로 보여주는 영친왕 관련 유물이 공개됐습니다. 고종의 일본인 며느리인 영친왕비 이방자 여사가 결혼 직전에 쓴 일기도 처음 공개됐습니다. 오점곤 기자의 보도입니다. [리포트] '1919년 1월 1일 미혼으로서 마지막 신년이다. 왠지 모르지만 즐겁고도 아쉽다' '결혼을 나흘 앞둔 1월 21일 오후 1시 생각지 못한 비보다. 경성에 있는 고종 전하가 뇌일혈로 아침 7시 50분에 중태에 빠지셨다' 일본어로 된 이 일기는 고종의 며느리 영친왕비가 결혼 직전에, 그러니까 1919년 1월부터 12월까지 136일간 쓴 것입니다. [인터뷰:정계옥, 국립고궁박물관 유물과학과장] "그 일기 속에는 새해를 맞이하는 기쁨, 그리고 결혼에 대한 기대, 그리고 결혼을 며칠 앞두고 승하하신 고종 황제에 대한 어떤 슬픈 내용들이 실려 있습니다." 태극기와 일장기가 나란히 함께 있는 모습이 많이 등장하는 사진첩. 1909년 이토 히로부미가 대내외 과시 차원에서 순종과 함께 평양과 신의주 등 서북순행을 하면서 찍은 사진들입니다. 일본으로 끌려간 어린 영친왕이 이토 히로부미와 장난치고 있는 동영상 필름도 있습니다. 최근 화제가 되고 있는 고종의 막내딸 덕혜옹주가 영친왕에게 보낸 안부 편지와 엽서, 그리고 영친왕이 직접 쓴 메모수첩도 공개됐습니다. 이번에 공개된 영친왕 관련 유물은 모두 700여 점. 지난 2008년 재일교포가 주일본 한국대사관에 기증하면서 일본에서 환수한 것입니다. 이번 유물 공개를 위해 준비를 담당했던 한 문화재 관계자는 "슬픈 역사를 정리하며 마음이 너무 착찹했고 수십번 애증이 교차했다"는 말로 소회를 대신했습니다. 국립고궁박물관은 이번에 언론에만 공개한 영친왕 관련 유물들을 좀 더 세밀하게 연구 분석한 뒤에 내년쯤 전시를 통해 일반인들에게도 공개할 예정입니다.
